Round table- Tetovo, my youth friendly municipality

Tetovo, my youth friendly municipality was the topic of the round table organized on 24th October 2019 by the Association Multikultura.

This final activity served to present the results of the project implemented so far, as well as to present the draft Strategy of the work of the Local Youth Council of the Municipality of Tetovo.

The presence of the huge number of youngsters, proved their willingness to be part of the Local Youth Council, and pointed out the importance of existence and functionality of this council.

This round table was an excellent opportunity to provide proposals, solutions and ideas from young people, local government and the NGO sector on how to increase youth participation in decision-making process and creating youth policies.

This activity is financially supported within the project “Legal aid and support for strengthening capacities for advocacy and sustainability for local civic organizations”, financed by the European Union, implemented by Macedonian Young Lawyers Association, Danish Refugee Council, Local Community Development Foundation and Coalition All For Fair Trials.

Promotion day "CSOs impACT for YOUth"

Today, 08th October 2019, through the promotional materials, the young people from the Municipality of Tetovo, had the chance to learn more about the Local Youth Strategy of the Municipality of Tetovo 2020-2024 and about their rights for participation in the policy and decision making processes.

In the frames of the last activity of this project, the team of Multikultura today was at the two universities and in the city center, in order to inform the young people about the youth policies and how to get more active in their community.

The activities of this project are supported by Mladiinfo through the project Youth Bank Hub Western Balkan and Turkey, which is financed by the European Union and implemented by 5 organizations from the region Mladiinfo from Macedonia, Fondacija Ana i Vlade Divac from Serbia, Nvo Prima from Montenegro, Partners Albania for Change and Development from Albania and Toplum Gönüllüleri Vakfı - TOG from Turkey.

Conference: We make democracy

During the period 15-20 Sepmtember 2019 a member of Multikultura participated among 40 other representatives from Western Balkans and Moldova at “We Make Democracy” a project developed by Swiss National Youth Council.

During the conferences, participants had the opportunity to talk and share their views on citizenship, inclusion and youth work.

Sports tournaments with different ethnic background

Two sports tournaments were organized with students from six secondary schools in Tetovo who formed teams with players from different ethnic background and different school and organized two sports tournaments in volleyball. T-shirts with peace massage were designed and printed for this activity. The main aim of the tournaments was promoting peace, diversity, and give space to participants to overcome their prejudices and stereotypes considering the importance of diversity in sport. Students who were not participating in the volleyball tournaments were encouraged to come support their classmates together with their sport professors. This activity was as well a good opportunity to distribute flyers to the youngsters.

The project Divided Past- Joint Future is being realized in the countries of the Western Balkans and Turkey, and the leading partner in the project is OKC Banjaluka.

The project is funded by the European Union.

Exhibition with intercultural and multi-ethnic motives

The team of Association Multikultura together with the Youth Peace Ambassadors organized an exhibition with intercultural and multi-ethnic motives. The main aim of this exhibition was to give space to all the citizens (not only youngsters) to learn more about each other`s culture and values, and at the same time to learn more about peace within the community they live. The exhibition was opened for all the citizens of the Municipality of Tetovo. Representatives from the Municipality of Tetovo, representatives from the business sector high school principals, high school students, the parents of the students were also visitors of the exhibition (At the same event, the flyers with peace messages were delivered to the visitors in order to learn more about each other values. We didn`t face any problem during the implementation of the first activity.
